These chapters overall cover the
importance of having functional and visually appealing design. Social Media,
Websites, and mobile applications all should carry a brand and a level of
consistency that integrate them in a way that the user can figure out what the
message is. The chapters also stress the importance of usability. Even if you
have the best laid out interface it should be simple to use because if people
don’t feel it is they will not use your apps and not support your brand.
I particularly like the idea of
unconventional advertising all together because it unites the brand in an
interesting way that side steps possibilities of ignoring the ad and makes the
general public have to face your advertisement.
In the below bus advertisement they use
visuals to grab your attention because it looks like a snake is actually
wrapped around the bus. It gets your attention and then you read the ad for the
zoo in the middle of the bus. If this would have just been an advertisement as
a poster on the bus it probably wouldn’t have been as successful.
