App Castro


Describe the challenge.
Create an mobile app that allows users to find the best deals for clothing/fashion based on the occasion of the event they are attending. Finding an outfit for a given occasion can be challenging especially when a budget and a time constraint is attached. Sometimes there are events in which one does not know what is appropriate or have the creativity to compose an outfit. The app will not only provide outfit suggestions but based on location or preference of shopping locations, the location of where one could purchase a particular clothing item will be listed based on the store. Therefore, a user could type in the occasion and various outfits will be created adjusting to the items available at their favorite stores. For example, a user could type in "date to an indie concert," and outfits from Target, H&M and Zara can appear, and depending on their budget or preference the user can decide where to go. 

The title of the app is still in the process of discovery. 

Who is the target audience?
The target audience would be women an men between the ages 18-25 due to the idea that this demographic are mainly engaged in a social life in which the user would like to make a fashion statement and might also have a budget constraint. 

What does the audience currently think about the brand or group?
Creating this app would be appealing to the target audience who want to explore with their style but feel they have budget constraints and therefore would find this app helpful and time saving. 
"I have good taste, I just don't have the money to show it." 

What would we like the target to think and feel?
Our target audience at times can be overwhelmed in making last time purchases for an occasion and therefore, this app would aid them in the process and help them find the best deal. Sometimes the audience can also feel trapped with the style the currently have. This app seeks to inspire users to explore their style while taking advantage of choosing an outfit they would need for a given event. 

Which facts, evidence or thoughts will assist in this change of thinking?
Creating a quiz the discovers the users style. 

What is the brand essence?
Inspiring, creative, chic, adventurous.

What is the key emotion that will build a relationship with the core audience?
The key emotion is excitement and relief. Relief that the user is able to find an outfit within their budget and excitement that if they do purchase the suggested outfit they will stand out and feell confident. 

What media will best facilitate our goal?
This would be a moblie app that will also gain its exposure through the fashion site Chictopia and other creative media such as Instagram and Pinterest. 

What is the single most important takeaway?
The most important take away is that this app is convenient and inspiring. 

What do we want the audience to do?
The audience should take the quiz the determines their current style and desired style. They would be encourage to upload personal photos and like/follow famous fashion bloggers, so the app is able to adjust to their desired look.
