P.Brown Creative Breif App

> Gamers United

> Define the Challenge:
The world of gaming lacks a single medium by which all gamers can come together, and share information with each other. Therein lies our challenge: to create an app that provides a place for gamers of all types to come together to discuss news, stats, and find friends cross-platform.

> Who is the target audience?
The target audience consists of all gamers. This broad of a category calls for further specificity. The people in this audience will be tech-savvy, and will tend to be age 13+. Due to the social networking aspect of finding friends, there will have to be an age restriction of each person being at least 13 years old. Moreover, gaming is present in many areas of the world, and many different languages are spoken by the players. Therefore, the app would have to be presented in different languages, but for this specific brief, the app will be in English.

> What does the audience currently think about the brand or group?
The audience of gamers tend to be very favored towards their platform of choice, whether it be PC or Mac, for computer gaming, or Xbox or PS3, for console gaming (to name a few). Although many people are very defensive and territorial with regards to their medium of gaming, there is also a need to contact friends and game with friends.

> What would we like the target to think and feel?
The audience should be thinking, after being exposed to the app, "where has this been my whole life?" It will be the first cross-platform, specific to gaming, social network. I honestly think it will be incredibly appealing to all gamers. However, for further proof, take into consideration the stereotype gamer. Often described as antisocial, although this is very much untrue, the introduction of a social media campaign focused towards gamers would help to relieve some of the preconceived negative thoughts that surround gamers and gaming culture.

> Which facts, evidence, or thoughts will assist in this change of thinking? How can we support our proposition?
Being a member of the gaming community, I can say first hand that a social media campaign focused toward us would be very much a big deal. The members of this community aren't so much changing their way of thinking, but more so thinking about networking and gaming in a new and inviting way.

> What media will best facilitate our goal?
Being an app, that is the media that will work the best. However, there may also be a website dedicated to the social network, that would need the ability to sync contacts/friends, scores and stats, and forum or community posts with the mobile app.

> The single most important takeaway?
The single most crucial takeaway from this campaign is that it's okay to be a gamer. Many see gaming as a negative creative outlet, and associate it often with being lazy or violent. This app will help bring gamers together in one place, to talk about games and the advancement of gaming culture, which is already advancing at an extremely rapid rate.

> What do we want the audience to do?
We want the audience to be a voice in the ever growing community of gaming. As time has passed, gaming has gradually become more acceptable. With people from multiple walks of life, different cultures, and different gaming preferences, many types of people will be able to come together under the banner of gaming as a society and a cultural influence.
