Francis - Social Media Campaign | Creative Brief

1.        Describe the challenge.

To create an app that is easy for adults to find drink and flavored shot recipes. Using “Booze-O-Pedia,” one will just need to scan the barcode of a hard liquor bottle (hard liquor only) to find a database of recipes based on the bottle of alcohol. If one doesn’t have a bottle handy, they can search for a specific bottle instead. There will also be a section to find details about the bottle of alcohol (such as taste, rating, and nutritional facts for those who are calorie counters) along with a section to find what local store has the cheapest deal on that bottle of alcohol. The users will be able to favorite recipes as well.

2.        Who is the target audience?

The target audience would be 21+ men and women who like to drink and try new alcoholic recipes.

3.        What does the audience currently think about the brand or group?

There are so many applications with drink recipes. However, there isn’t one where you can scan the barcode of a bottle of alcohol to find a recipe or find the cheapest place to buy it.

4.        What would we like the target to think and feel?

I would like the target audience to think and feel this is a useful app to have while also easy and fun.

5.        Which facts, evidence or thoughts will assist in this change of thinking?

Being six months into my freedom as a 21-year-old, I know now what plagues the average drinker. I don’t know how many times one of my friends or myself would go to a store, pick up a bottle of hard liquor, and not know what to mix it with, other than the typical orange or cranberry juice. In addition, with our current economy, we need to (or at least should) find the cheapest place to buy the bottle of alcohol.

6.        What is the brand essence?

The essence would be sophisticated, convenient, refreshing, and fun.

7.        What is the key emotion that will build a relationship with the core audience?

The key emotion would be appreciation along with happiness and wonder for the newly discovered recipes. It will all start with appreciation because I want the users to be thankful for the app.

8.        What media will best facilitate our goal?

The main source will be a smartphone app because that will be how the user will scan a liquor bottle. Advertisements along with “recipe of the day” will be provided on Facebook and Twitter. Instagram will be used for pictures of the “recipe of the day.”

9.   What are the most critical elements?

The most critical elements would be the convenience of finding a drink recipe whenever needed and at the tip of your fingers with just a scan of a barcode. In addition, the feature that allows the user to find where he or she can buy the bottle of alcohol the cheapest.

10.   What is the  single most important takeaway?

Users should have an easy, fun way to discover new drink recipes.

11.   What do we want the audience to do?

The audience should download the application to be actively involved in finding new drink recipes. All they need to do is to scan the barcode of their favorite hard liquor bottle or one that they currently desire to drink.
