Chapter 7 is all about opening our eyes to the many varied creative approaches possible in advertising. The humorous analogies approach stood out to me...Specifically, the images on page 116 featuring the chocolate bunnies and the worm, encouraging people to ski and snowboard with helmets on.
Chapter 8 focuses on typography-- a huge component in advertising design. It's important to not just come up with a catchy line, but also to visualize and present it in an effective way. I appreciate that the book touched on ways to mix different typefaces, and unique ways to incorporate typography into the ads. I particularly liked the image on page 143-- an ad for North Carolina that features a marquee in this middle of nowhere with the words, "Now Showing: Sunset and Clouds."
Chapter 9 is about the importance of composition. I had a hard time choosing a favorite image from Chapter 9 because I enjoyed almost all of them.
